St. George’s Place in Canterbury involved the demolition of existing retail buildings and the construction of a student accommodation comprising 204 student rooms, 10 student family houses and a student centre with coffee shop. The site was located in an archaeology AAI zone meaning the entire site was subject to an extensive archaeological investigation. A Metframe with concrete floors by Metsec was selected as the construction solution due to repetition – the most recent technological building fabrics and M&E were a feature throughout. Bathroom pods were prefabricated by Walker Modular and the building achieved BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
